By refusing to change its city council districts, El Cajon is leaving immigrants behind

The city of El Cajon is wrapping up its redistricting process to determine the boundaries of its City Council districts for the next 10 years. But there is a catch. The City Council is shirking its responsibility to abide by an important state law (the FAIR MAPS Act), and is instead adopting the exact map under which the current council was elected. Tuesday, it voted in favor of that existing map.
